Both! USB 3.2 Gen 2 is the new name for USB 3.1 Gen 2, so they’re the same.
Just take a look at this customer quote: “It sure will. Works great. Love this card reader. I use it with both an iPad Pro and a MacBook Pro and have seen no issues with it.”
Yes, you can download data from both cards in your Compact Flash Reader at the same time at full speed.
Yes, the reader will work with the SDHC cards. SDXC and SDHC are physically the same size, the difference is that the SDXC cards have an extra row of pins on the back which allows them to read and write at faster speeds. SDHC cards are a little slower so you will not realize the same speeds as you do with SDXC cards.
The cables measure 18 inches long.
Works as advertised
Have had no problem using this reader on either my MacBook, iMac or Windows computers. Not the most compact reader, but still small enough to keep in my laptop bag. Nice that they include cables to connect to USB-C and USB-A type connectors, so basically works with every computer.
Happy to have this rock solid reader
I have not used the ProGrade Digital Compact Flash and SD UHS-II dual slot card reader for more than doing some tests, but so far it has been impressive. The compact flash well is deep enough that there is little (or no) worry of bending the pins in the reader. This is something less worthy readers rarely do, and I have many dead readers due to bent pins from shallow CF wells. The rubberized magnetic base works beautifully. I have the reader stuck to the top of a full tower case desktop computer, and can easily insert & remove cards without dislodging the reader. I have not tried the included adhesive-backed ferrous mounting plate with my aluminum case laptop, but it works exactly as desired with the desktop case. The only complaint I have is pretty minor - the online description of the unit says that it has has USB 3.2 Gen 2 interface, but the packaging says it’s a USB 3.1 Gen 2 device. I thought I had been sent the wrong device until I did a little research. believe this is simply a matter of the 10 Gbps USB channel being renamed by the USB Implementers Forum from 3.1 Gen 2 to 3.2 Gen 2, and it was probably too expensive to repackage existing inventory to reflect a different name for the same thing, especially when the packaging is so obviously first-class. Overall I’m very pleased with the ProGrade reader so far.
Screaming Fast
Transfers through this card reader into the Thunderbolt 3 port of my MacBook Pro are screaming fast. While shopping for devices for my new Mac, I learned that the USB nomenclature is incredibly (deliberately?) confusing. This card reader is genuinely USB 3.1 Gen 2. Its that Gen 2 that makes all the difference in speed (twice as fast as Gen 1).
