*To achieve full USB 3.1, Gen. 2 transfer speeds, your USB host connection, cables and device must all support USB 3.1, Gen. 2.
Ran into a connection problem with the card reader. Would disconnect and re-connect continuously. I got a replacement very easily. And the new one works great! Not to mention the reader is fantastic.
Absolutely viable, very good quality
I love it! I bought the and the card reader. It is faster then any of card I own. It makes down loading to my computer a lot faster as well. Wish I could afford the newest and fastest one, but can't justify.
I have not used the ProGrade Digital Compact Flash and SD UHS-II dual slot card reader for more than doing some tests, but so far it has been impressive. The compact flash well is deep enough that there is little (or no) worry of bending the pins in the reader. This is something less worthy readers rarely do, and I have many dead readers due to bent pins from shallow CF wells. The rubberized magnetic base works beautifully. I have the reader stuck to the top of a full tower case desktop computer, and can easily insert & remove cards without dislodging the reader. I have not tried the included adhesive-backed ferrous mounting plate with my aluminum case laptop, but it works exactly as desired with the desktop case. The only complaint I have is pretty minor - the online description of the unit says that it has has USB 3.2 Gen 2 interface, but the packaging says it’s a USB 3.1 Gen 2 device. I thought I had been sent the wrong device until I did a little research. believe this is simply a matter of the 10 Gbps USB channel being renamed by the USB Implementers Forum from 3.1 Gen 2 to 3.2 Gen 2, and it was probably too expensive to repackage existing inventory to reflect a different name for the same thing, especially when the packaging is so obviously first-class. Overall I’m very pleased with the ProGrade reader so far.
I’m an advanced nature & wildlife photographer. When I go out to shoot I normally come back with 400 to 800 shots for I shoot at high speed bursts of birds in flight. The first thing I do is take that camera card out and immediately transfer it to my dedicated external hard drive. From there, I then import all to Lightroom to start editing. I had been using for the last 3 years a multiple Insignia card reader and was used to its normal pace. When it finally broke up I started looking for a different product that would seem better built. PRoGrade info came up on my screen and I liked what I read, so decided to give it a try. I bought the Compact Flash dual reader. Opening the box was a nice surprise for even the packing felt like super quality. I inserted both my cards - one of them loaded with video and the second one with over 300 frames- I shoot Canon 7DMk2 and suddenly Wham! Holy Cow! The speed of the transfer caught me by surprise! Used for years to the small, slow Insignia, I was delighted with this product. I love even the way it feels to handle it. It is just a great product.. plus, the service of this company is THE BEST. I am now a totally convinced ProGrade fan. Get their products. You will not be disappointed.
